Hidden Inlet Resort is located at Gwent Cove on the Pearse/Portland canal. We are 80 miles by boat, or a short 45 minute float plane ride south of the beautiful island city of Ketchikan Alaska.
We are the only fishing resort located within the Misty Fiords national monument wilderness. This spectacular national wilderness which was created in 1978 includes 2,294,343 protected acres of land. The boundary near Hidden Inlet is the US/Canadian boarder.
The resort is built on the historic site of the old Hidden Inlet Fishing Cannery which operated from 1911 through 1954. The area has historically been excellent fishing and remains so today.
The name Hidden Inlet refers to a 5 mile long fiord bounded by tall mountains with a large creek at the far end. The inlet is only accessible by a very narrow entrance located adjacent to the resort. You will be awestruck by nature’s beauty within in the hidden inlet. Amazing waterfalls, nesting bald eagles, playful seals or propoise are only a few of the magnificent sights that await you. It’s not uncommon to see orcas heading in and out of the inlet to feed on fish that come in and out with the tide. The inlet is truly a hidden treasure.
